5th class received a great introduction to native Irish wildflowers and trees through storytelling and music from the wonderful Marina Levitina. The children met several plants and trees in an old woodland, and were able to hear trees and flowers “sing” through the Music of the Plants biofeedback device. We also heard traditional stories about plants. Pupils enjoyed the whole experience immensely.

For anti-bullying week we discussed all the different types of bullying. We also learned a song, the Friends Theme Song “I’ll be there for you”. Garda Lorraine and Garda Irene came in to talk to us also about bullying and about what we should do if we notice someone being bullied. As an anti-bullying week activity, we made posters and put them on the windows for all the school to see. We also did 'Good Deeds', arts and crafts and put a real emphasis on being kind to each other this week. We really enjoyed anti- bullying week 2022.
Pupils from 5th class greatly enjoyed learning about school life in days gone past. Pupils enjoyed conducting interviews on their parent/guardian, granny or grandad. Pupils shared stories and experiences of many eras over the history of education in Crusheen and the surrounding schools. Well done to everyone on their excellent efforts!
Pupils had great fun this week doing Maths Trails. All part of Maths week 2022 as we sought to bring our learning outdoors having fun and working together. We also played games and did other fun activities in what was an enjoyable week. Well done to all!
Pupils in 5th class have been honing their hurling skills on the ball wall. We hope to continue this on a regular basis practicing skills the pupils can also do at home. Well done to all on their efforts and their infectious enthusiasm!
Boys from 4th - 6th classes had a great day at the recent Football Championship blitz held in Gurteen. Despite the weather being atrocious and results not going our way pupils kept battling together all the way to the end and must be commended for their efforts. Well done to all!
Well done to all the pupils who tried out to be on the Cross Country team representing the school this year. Pupils made great efforts in the weeks prior to the trials, training hard and giving their all. This was really evident in what was a very impressive trials day. Every pupil should be proud of themselves for showing great grit and determination.
