Many thanks to Gort CS and St Flannan's College who invited us to their 5th & 6th class blitzes. Pupils had a great time learning the game, having fun and making new friends. Many thanks to everyone including the Transition year students of each school who helped to create fond memories for the pupils. We look forward to the Camogie next week! Pupils were also delighted to get their picture taken with Clare great Brendan Bugler!
5th class have engaged very well with our emphasis on Health and Wellbeing at the start of the school year whilst also beginning the Walk Tall programme in SPHE.
We must also thank Ger Brick who gave an excellent talk and discussion on the topic of Internet Safety. Pupils and teachers alike learned a huge amount and appreciated his wonderful way, listening to the pupils and answering the very many questions asked. ![]() 5th class have been very busy in English this year. We have been revising poems and learning new ones also such as 'First day at school' and 'My teacher ate my homework'! We have also been reading and learning about the recount writing genre as well as drafting and re-drafting our very own pieces. Well done to everyone on the excellent efforts and wonderful presentation on display. 5th class have been learning all about the Celts. We have learned about their origins, the food they ate, farming methods, clothes they wore, tools and weapons they made, cultural or artistic achievements, language(s), and myths and stories we still tell today!
Pupils greatly enjoyed attempting some of the wonderful Celtic designs you see above. Welcome back 5th class! I hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to all the fun and activities planned for this term!
